There is the 360 core bundle which is $299.99, and there is another one that is $399.99. Is the only difference a wireless controller?

With the 400 buck console, you get a wireless controller instead of the wired controller on the 300 buck one. You also get 20 gb hard drive, which means you don't need to get a memory card to save games unless you want to transport you data to your friend's 360. You also get a headset for online communication. The 400 also comes with the component (Green, Red, Blue, Red, White (1st 3 for video, last 2 for audio) and composite (Yellow, Red, White (V,A,A) cable combo, while the 300 only has the composite cable. The 400 also has the chrome disk tray. Online is the same for both models. You get XBL silver (for XBL marketplace and downloading the backward compatibility patch, but you cannot compete against other playes), and if you pay the 50 annual fee, you get XBL gold, which gives you access to the silver membership plus you can play/compete against other players.

Memory is the same for both.

The guy who said he has a 360 obviously doesn't have a 360 because everything he said is mostly false.

You can play HD-DVD movies if you buy the 200 dollar HD-DVD player add-on. You will never be able to play Blu-ray movies on the 360 because MS doesn't support Blu-ray, while Sony supports Blu-ray, but not HD-DVD.

They're just different generations of the premium. The first premium that came out didn't have HDMI port. Then about 2 years later, MS decided to include HDMI output on the 20 gb premium. The 60 gb is just the same as the 20 gb premium with HDMI output except it has a bigger hard drive. It might also contain the Jasper chip (not confirmed), which should help to further reduce the chance of the 360 getting the ring of death. The 60 gb is better since it's cheaper, and you get a bigger hard drive.

Im gunna take a guess, due to the lack of information, but no.

It most likely also includes some memory w/ the wireless controller. If they are at the same store, then it could very well be that the package with the controller has less discount / rebate / sale.

Look at the fine print, and go to the stores website to check out the specs. Usually they'll have an ID number near the summerized info. (providing you are refering to a catalog deal for Black Friday)

I bought the higher of the two and mine came with a wireless controller, headset, and hard drive. If you get the 300 dollar one you don't get all of that and you may have to buy the memory card seperately, thus costing you more anyway. The hard drive rocks over any memory card. Spend the extra and buy the one with the hard drive.

No, the higher priced one has more memoey and is covered in more flashy chrome. It also plays HD and Blu Ray formats, and has more internet capabilities. Plus, yes, it does include a wireless controller, but that is not the only feature. Instead of having a memory card, the memory is built right in. Get the higher priced one. It's worth it. I should know. I have that very same one.
