If the moon turns red it likely means that there has been a volcanic eruption scattering dust into the atmosphere that acts (not quite, but you get the idea) like the red side of a pair of 3D glasses. Try looking at the moon through a red filter and you get the same effect.

Eclipses cause a similar effect, usually much more dramatic.

What you are refering to sounds more like astrology than astronomy, the color of the moon has nothing to do with events on earth, with the possible exception that it may cause people to go outside and look up at it....

It's a lunar eclipse and it happens fairly frequently. In the right conditions you can see the moon appearing as a reddish orange orb and it looks real weird. Stars also "fall from the sky" or burn out all the time. Great wars happen since there were enough people to carry them out. Many religions use a fear factor to keep people "faithful" to the "cause". I wish it wasn't so.

Where in the world did you hear that? There has been doomsday disasters stories since the beginning of mankind. The moon only turn "red looking" during a lunar eclipse. Don't listen to crazy stories.

The "blood moon" or "hunter's moon" occurs usually sometime in October. It's a lunar eclipse ... or something of the sorts. I figure since it happens all the time, it doesn't mean anything.

The sun turns a reddish color during lunar eclipses. Since there have been so many of them during the last few billion plus years, I doubt that they have any significance.
