It's an answer that will differ from person to person, with alot depending on their experiences. You have to also add what you'll be using the laptop for when saying one is better than another.

I would give Apple a slight edge over Dell, just because of the new versatility with Bootcamp and the ability to dual boot Mac OSX and Windows. However, I've never been impressed with the graphics on Mac laptops and would prefer to see a machine that supports higher resolutions and have higher end graphics cards.

Dell would be just barely behind them. A large product range, huge availability of spare parts and fairly decent prices. Most reliable laptops out of any brands that I've used.

Dell is the best ( The postservice it has it's awesome, if your laptop fails you call customer service and the next day they go to your home or office to change the whole laptop and replace it with a similar one, so you won't stop using it. Also, the price is more unexpensive against the competition since you buy it directly from dell.com and not resellers as the competition does ).

In second place I would go for hp.
