Amazon give a sales ranking to each book, but this can be very deceptive as it is updated hourly and the rank of a book can alter by a few thousand up or down depending on whether anyone has bought copies in the previous hour.
Other booksellers/newspapers have their own system of ranking best-sellers, but these are often based on the sales in one or two main stores, using them to estimate average sales throughout the country. As they don't all use the same sample stores, their results will differ, especially if one store is running a special promotion of a certain book. They often only feature a "Top Ten" so it's likely that any runaway best-sellers will feature in each of their lists. However, for longer lists, this system serves as a rough guide only and certainly isn't definitive.

As of August 14, 2008, Pelosi's ability rank on Amazon has dropped to an abysmal 2798. "recognize Your ability: A Message To united statesa.'s Daughters" is a e book that i might by no ability prefer my daughter to envision. for a woman who has a single digit pollrating, she isn't an extremely good form for united statesa.'s daughters.

This site might also help:

http://www.thebookseller.com/?pid=7

It gives the 'Offical UK Top 50'

There's also this site:
http://www.nielsenbookscan.co.uk/
but they don't seem to show the information in their web page, you may need to contact them ... don't know if that will cost money or not/
