ok your first few periods you have will seem a little strange. its new and kind of scary. and alot of girls will spot between periods. and the itching and burning sounds like a yeast infection. maybe you could talk to your mom or an older sister. and now that you have started your period its a good time to talk to your mom about seeing a womans dr. they will exam you and make sure everything is fine then you will only have to go back once a year for a yearly check up. my mom took me to planned parent hood when i was 13 it freaked me out at first but she just explained to me that sometimes women develop certian problems and its a good idea to start seeing a womans dr. when a young lady starts her period. and she got me on birth control not for the sex thing cause she new i was way to young and i knew i wasnt ready either. but to help regulate my periods. so i wouldnt spot as much as i did. but ithink the best thing is to talk to your mom and tell her what your consernce are . but talk to your mom and she will probly have some good advice and she will probly know a good dr for you to see. and dont underestimate your mom like alot of teens to she will be there for you.

When I first started my period my flow was quite different than it is now (texture wise)...it was sticky and brown...now its actual blood. This lasted for about 4 cycles. The itching and burning doesn't sound good. You may have an infection. An infection isn't anything dirty...it can be caused from a number of things. I used to get bacterial infections a lot due to the soap I was using ( now I use regular dial soap, nothing with any kind of perfume). If you do have an infections you would need to see your doctor...some yeast infections can be cured with over the counter meds, but bacterial infections require antibiotics.
Also, make sure you change your pads, or tampons every 3-4 hours to keep the risk of infection down. And when you go to sleep use a pad rather than a tampon.

Since your body is still getting use to the whole puberty thing, it will take a few months or more to get "regular". Just give it some time. Now that you have had a change in your hormones, you will need to be more diligent in your hygiene. It could also be a yeast infection(also due to a change in your hormones). Now that you have started your period it is a very good idea to see a gynecologist. They can help you with a yeast infection and help with any questions you may have.
I know it is embarrassing for you, and maybe a little scary. But it is very important to keep every part of you healthy!

Yeah thats probably a sign of an infection. You should go to the doctor and have them take a look. But also it seems like your period is coming to a stop that happens in a lot of cases, er well minus the itching and burning.

Okay, the first year your periods will be very irregular in flow, duration and frequency. The part that is not normal is the itching and burning. It could be something as simple as irritation from frequent cleaning since this has been a long period or could be something more bothersome like a yeast infection (my daughter gets one frequently when she gets her period). This requires a specific medication. You should talk to your Mom.

Def sounds like your on your period and dont worry if its going on for a while... The first few periods can be pretty irregular...
As for the itching and burning sounds like an infection... Either thrush / cystitus... Both of these can be caused by antibiotics so if youve had flu lately and have taken antibiotics thats probably why.
Go and see your doc/nurse cos it wont get better on its own. You shouldnt need an internal just tell them what youve told us and they'l be able to diagnose you!!!
Good Luck x

The itching maybe because you are allergic to the pads you are using. I get that, I have found that I am OK with Bodyform, but not Always.
As for the bleeding, it all sounds normal for you first couple of periods. It will take a while for this to settle down.
Hope that helps.

Menstrual blood can be acidic, so a little burning is normal. However, women are much more prone to infections such as cystitis and thrush, which is not unusual during the first and last days of a period.

I had my period at school and was walking so slow almost dragging my feet b/c I have terrible cramps and also I didn't want to stain my jeans and while walking to the bathroom these two girls said "she really has to go doesn't she, really needs to let it out (number #2)." I was seriously disgusted by their suggestion and probably would have said something if I wasn't in so much pain, it was embarrassing but I feel it was more for them b/c they can't mind their own business.
