i've got it to turn over without the plugs, and slowly with the plugs.

scary answers folks, can we assume an air cooled engine ? if so change the oil , it's burnt, charge the battery and put the belt on and connect all air hoses and plug any holes in the tin , also make shure the plug grommets are in place , if you can get spark and fuel it should start, if your coil overheated it might not give spark, the slow turning over is a concern , the bearings and rings could be toast, if you can pull it @ 10 mph in 3rd gear ( with the ignition off ) that might get the fresh oil in there to help it run again , then pull it again , same speed , same gear then turn on the ignition , be prepared to stab the clutch in and get it in neutral and keep it running , having 3 feet helps , lol. good luck, these are rebuild able motors hope you can salvage it .

The belt is the mechanism that controls the timing between the ignition firing and the pistons. this is critical. It will have to be completely retimed by a qualified mechanic

since there air cooled ,and its possible the cooler wasn't turning on it it may have hurt it some,you,ll have to re-charge the battery up,and start it to see if its going to be OK, otherwise you,ll never know about this one,,id just get get the battery charged up and take it from there and see how it ran when it started up,good luck,i hope this help,s.

you have to time the crank and the camshaft im not sure if this is a zero clearance motor but by turning while not in time you may have bent a valve take it to a qualified mech

what yr and which model ,which belt,the timing belt or the alt and water pump,if so did it get badly overheated ,the battery could be run down now.
