This question was asked of me by Casey, 8. A very good question for an eight year old to ask, I thought. If we "older" people were to accept Casey's question as a fact rather than a question, how might it affect us?

It is a very interesting way of looking at it... and yes the earth really is. Nearly everything is used but alot does get renewed.

What do we (in general) do with hand me downs?
Most people throw them away or not take care of them.
IF we thought of the planet as a "hand me down" maybe more people may look at our natural resources as limited and maybe most 'things' would be left in better condition for the next generation.
Maybe more people would be inclined to mend problems and keep things tidier. Who knows?
Personally I don't mind hand me downs... most things have character and still strong enough and well made to be handed down to someone else (as long as it is cared for)
