Very little that is latest is great, but the stores would have you, and her, caught on the treadmill of "the latest thing."
Is that really a good lesson to give her, with her present?
How about a classic book (or set of books) or toy that you enjoyed at her age?

Yes, buy your daughters love with trinkets that can second as babysitters. Don't try to do anything meaningful.
