You will undoubtedly leave something on a computer when you search unless you use FireFox. If is a free web browser available at the link below. Firefox has a feature to clear all aspects of web browsing every time you close it down. You can selectively choose which ones (or all) to clear when shutting down:
-Browsing history
-Saved Form and Search History
-Cache
-cookies
-Saved passwords
-Authenticated Sessions
You will also have access to thousands of extensions that ROCK!
So dump whatever lame browser you are now using and get the coolest browser ever!

On your microsoft browser go to Tools, then Internet Options, then under Browsing History click delete (don't worry, you won't at this stage delete your saved passwords etc.) and then you have a list of options. Click on Delete History and it will get rid of all the sites you have searched for in the past. I do it regularly!

Next to the word 'Google' there is a little black downward pointing arrow (between the search box and the word) - click on the arrow and select 'Clear Search History'. It does exactly what it says on the tin!

just clear your web browser's history
Firefox: "Tools" menu -> "Clear Private Data" menu (or just press CTRL+SHIFT+DEL) and check the "Saved Form Information" checkbox and click Clear Private Data Now.
Internet Explorer 7: "Tools" menu -> "Internet Options" submenu -> "General" tab -> "Delete" button -> "Delete forms..." button
Internet Explorer 6: "Tools" menu -> "Internet Options" submenu -> "Content" tab -> "Autocomplete" button -> "Clear Forms" button
