You're right. You can get a job without an education. McDonald's and Burger King are always hiring for $7/hour. Also, if you don't like those opportunities, you can maybe cut grass for a business owner, who did go to high school and college.
Get an education!

cuz the only jobs that u can get without an education would b a burger flipper or a factory job. those arent the worst jobs cuz somebody has to do it but if u wanna better urself and future then u need an education to get a better job. and if u have an education u can get a stable job. notice that a lotta factories are movin to different states and countries so they'll b able to pay workers for less. if u work in a factory that moves ur screwed if u dont have a plan B.

Because there is a big difference in having a job and having a career. Me personally, I like the fact that with an education I can make almost 6 figures a year and not have to worry about money. I don't have to do back breaking, demeaning labour either. I want my kids to go to college, not to settle for some petty $7.00 an hour job mopping floors or serving food.

A college degree has become a necessary evil. Students and their parents are being financially drained by unnecessary degrees. Sure, doctors, lawyers, engineers, and other specialty careers need a college education. But they only make up about 10% of the work force. There are an unbelievable number of Walmart managers, small business owners, day care workers, factory workers, etc., etc., who simply don't need to be that educated. Even most school teachers could easily get by with a high school education. I know, because I've been a substitute teacher for ten years.
Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with an education. But too many employers are being forced to hire people with college degrees, when, in fact, a high school diploma is sufficient.

Well its nothing bad to be asking would you like fries with that (this is actually for the ones that posted and answer like that) but hey! its true most of the times you can get a job with out a degree... but when you think about it someone younger will come a few years or maybe months late with a college degree and BOOOM! Yoooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuur OUT! So try to think about it if you were thinking on not getting a degree or hey! jsut do it for the fun of it! for the fun of learning new things and college experience and you'll see how great it can be! Even if its just an associates degree... just give it a try!

Yeah you can find all sorts of jobs out there...many include the phrase "do you want fries with that?" Having an education gives you a lot more choice in that decision and can ensure that you make more than the minimum wage which btw has not been raised in 10 years and is way overdue...

Besides wanting a "career" and not a job, sometimes it's just nice to "know stuff".Getting an education not only trains you for better career prospects, but it also trains you for life in general.

Because people believe the education system makes people smarter and more efficient so clearly they have no memory or idea of what the education system really teaches...
