i think its unfair. if she was of another faith, her employers would bend over backwards cause they'd be scarred of offending her incase she sued them.
theres different rules out there for english and non-english.

It is not really a very good idea and they will lose a lot of business. If I worked for them I would go on strike.
It's all getting silly now. The lady getting sacked for wearing a cross, the teaching assistant sacked for wearing a veil... at this rate we will all end up looking the same. As long as someone does not dress to cause offence they should be able to wear what they like.

I don't see how wearing a cross prevents her from doing her job. I think it's a stupid ruling.
On the other hand, religious nutters whose religion prevents them from performing their jobs should be fired on the spot. Don't like the gay ad on the side of the city bus you're driving? Then drive a school bus instead. Don't want to give taxi rides to people who legally purchased liquor in the duty-free shop? Then go work in a factory or something. Don't like dispensing morning after pills? Then don't be a pharmacist. There should be no catering to religion-induced incompetence.

I fail to see B. A.'s reasoning behind the ban.
Ever body from any denomination should be able to wear a discrete piece of jewelry whether it is religious or not. If the cross was huge and broke health and safety rules that would be fair. Politically Correct gone haywire. Where is it all going to end?

Absolutely pathetic, i wear a cross not because i am a christian it is just a very nice looking cross with pearls on it. I would also be upset if someone asked me to cover it up. It is not like you stand and have long conversations about religion with the customers. So silly.

Absolutely disgusting, so all of a sudden we are not allowed to wear a cross if it,s on show. This is a most demeaning thing to do by BA and i hope the woman can sue them for their impudence.

Although I am uncomfortable with any religious symbols being overt, I must agree with you on this. It's just not fair. If Sikh, Jewish, and Muslim employees are still permitted their symbols then it is flat out discrimination against a particular faith. Period.

I'm with you too. This is still a (mostly) Christian country so why not a Cross? I wouldn't object to say a Jewish star or similar either
