I think there is a communications problem between the parents and the teens. Each need to be open to what the other is wanting. A parent needs to find out why the child does not want to go to school. Maybe homeschooling would be better, or working hard so the teen could graduate early. I really can't think of a good reason to drop out of school. Except maybe a farmers son who is going to work the farm with his dad. It is a hard thing for a parent to decide because without good reason the teen may get into "trouble" if being forced to go to school but will most likely get into trouble by dropping out. So I think the teen needs to think ahead and realize that the parents know what is better for them and stay in school and make the best of it, do their best and get through it, that would be the adult thing to do.

I think occassional field trips to jails or prisons plus going to some places that deal with alcohol and drug addicts would keep some kids from turning into crimnals or addicts once they see what goes on in those places. You'll always have a few who will turn bad and those will suffer in the end. Modern sweet talk discipline sure isn't working and throwing the laws out the window covering discipline would be a big help too. They should tar and feather the liberals who have screwed up proper discipline of children these days. An **** whopping would certainly show who the boss is in the home.
