I do know that it is being damaged by by chemicals released into the atmosphere.
I know there is a large one over the South pole and as a result ice shelves are thawing fast. I heard it was very large spanning hundreds of miles.
I do not know the names of the layers sorry.
Yes I wear sunscreen on a sunny day to stop burning.
No I do not wear sunscreen on a cloudy day, though I do know I should as it is the UVA rays that burn us and these are still evident on a cloudy day.

The ozone layer is a layer of single oxygen atoms that deflect/absorb ultra violet radiation from the sun. There has been a lot published about it and much of that information is contradictory. What we do know is that it varies in size from season to season and that it can be damaged by cloroflorocarbons, among other things. However, there is debate as to what really causes the CFCs to migrate into the upper atmosphere. Some believe it is the products of our civilization, others believe it is the products of volcanic eruptions.
I have very light skin so wear sunscreen regularly.

I know it protects us from UV rays and helps with things like global warming.
I know the hole is quite large and is increasing every year. Scientist are working in the North and South Poles to measure the damage.
no
yes I wear sunscreen to prevent burning and skin cancer.
no I do not usually bother wearing sunscreen when it is cloudy because I am less likely to burn. I will wear it on a cloudy day if I know I will be spending alot of time outdoors.

The ozone layer absorbs some of the solar radiation and disburses it evenly.
The largest " holes " are at the arctic and antarctic. don't know their sizes.
The Heaviside layer is responsible for "skip" radio communication.
No sunscreen on either a sunny or cloudy day. I tend to tan well.
I have lived in Colorado Mountains, too. ( Near the REAL South Park )
I have worn sunglasses though...

Ozone has always been around in varying degrees. There is a hole at one of the poles under a volcano when the volcano is letting loose gas it gets bigger and when its dormant it gets smaller. People think they can control it.
No, I never wore sunscreen, unless it was in my makeup, and I don't always wear makeup. I don't spend that much time in the sun I work indoors. Cloudy days you can get a sunburn but that is for people with really sensitive skin.

I know that it protects us from UV rays.
I know that it is in the South Pole and it only happens for a short time during the year. It is bigger than it used to be.
No.
Yes, because some of the UV rays still get through so you have to protect your skin.
Yes, because the clouds don't block UV rays either.
