I just don't understand that. A guy was just here and he was saying that his mother is 88 yrs old. He said SHE'S lucky to still be alive. How is that lucky? She can hardly see, bearly hear, gets along rather slowly and painfully at that. Why do people say it's luck to be alive when the living conditions are poor at best?
What's so great about being here? My alternative is heaven. Once I am gone I'll be in heaven. It doesn't get any better than that. Help me to understand what makes some people so darn glad to be here. Everywhere I look, I see pain and misery, suffering and hardship, struggles and turmoil. My husband says "I'm thankful God allowed me to live another day". Why? So you can work from sun up to sun down to pay bills. So you can feel the arthritis in your knees and back some more. So you can deal with more rude people. So you can be tired and out of breath easily. It's a steady routine of the same thing day in and day out. Work, work, work. Behind with the bills. Body pain

no one ever said living was easy. struggles make us stronger and who knows the people you are influencing by being here on earth and persevering. I know people that I admire for making it through tough times; i know if they can do, i can too. You're being here does have a purpose even if you can't see it yourself. I agree, Heaven is my alternative which I gladly accept when my time comes, but I know until then, God intends me to keep on keeping on if nothing else but to be here for my family, friends and people like you who just need a lift every now and then. There's got to something that brings you pleasure that you wouldn't want to leave behind right now, is there not? Try focusing on all the positive things in your life and see if you don't start to look at life like your husband does. God bless you.

When people say this, generally they are meaning, "There is someone that has it worse off than us, so just be happy". BUT, when they say this they are generally wrong. It is lucky for the people who are saying it about someone else, because they don't have to go through the hardships of losing a loved one. But really, it is luckier if they are not alive, assuming they lived a clean life, because as you said, Heaven is as good as it gets. Mostly it is because people use expressions without thinking about what the expressions really mean, they are just so use to them.

You need to get out, and live a little.
It is easy to get into a rut, and let things get on top of you.
Life is what you make of it, so change something, you will feel better!
