drape the tie over your neck so that both sides hang in front of your shoulders. take the end of the tie thats bigger (the front) and loosely wrap it around the other end twice near your collar bones, but rather than taking it AROUND after the 2nd time, take the wide end up between the front of your throat and the part thats around your neck. now, stuff the part that is coming up from your neck into the loose knot thats in front of your neck. as you pull it downward, keep one hand on the knot to adjust how tight it gets. if you pull on the other end, you'll shorten the distance between your neck and the knot, so dont pull too tight.
