Lemiuex (in my opinion) was the best player. Crosby is good but still young. I think maybe after this year in the NHL, he will be just as good if not better. I also think Stall and Malkin will give him a run for his money.
Lemiuex wa great in his time but I believe he became a distraction when he came out of retirement.
I dont think there is a player of his caliber right now playing the game.

I wouldn't say that Crosby has replaced him. Crosby isn't as good as Mario was, and they don't really play the same kind of hockey. Mario was much for of an offensive threat, especially one on one while Crosby plays plays better two way play, he's still offensive, but he's more defensive than Mario was. As far as retiring, I am glad that he's finally hung up the skates. He's old, he has a family, he needs to focus on his life outside of hockey now. It would be great if guys like him, Gretzky, Howe, Orr could play forever, but they're human and they need their time out to pasture.

No I'm not glad he's gone. He is the #1 reason hockey is still in Pitttsburgh. 2 Stanley Cup Championships back to back and one time owner of the team. Crosby is fun, but even he lives in Mario's house.

No, but I think he had to retire. His health wasn't co-operating with his body. I think his health should come first over everything else.
He was great in his prime years, but let's face it, his health needs to come first. I wouldn't want to end up dying prematurely because he had to play hockey. Sydney Crosby is a great talent, but to say if he will be as good or better than Lemieux is difficult to say at this stage. He has the potential to be one of the alltime greats, especially when
they also have Malkin on the same team.

No i am not glad. Mario is a legend who was worth the price of admission. Crosby might be someday. Would you pay top dollar to see Crosby play? thought so...... Mario was a natural goal scorer and superstar.

No, Mario was one of the all time greats, right up there with Wayne Gretzky. Yes Sid the Kid has replaced Mario, in fact, he just might be better than Mario.
