The processors not bad, i personally prefer AMD to Intel. The graphics card seems pretty good. But you might want to look at some other sites as well. It might be a good idea to look at sites where you can buy only the base unit (PC) and not the monitor and everything together. You might get a better deal that way. I recently saw dabs giving away 19" TFTs for less than £100!! For PCs look at dell or overclockers (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=43&catid=110) . It always pays to look around!!

The best thing to do is to build one because you get more for your money. If you know someone with good IT skills you can ask them to help you and maybe you can take them to Nandos or something :) . mmmmmmmm .. nandos!!

I would personally never buy a computer from PC World. They usually sell PC's which are not easy to upgrade in the future and they use very cheap components (for example the ram probably wont be a great make like crucial, kingston or corsair). I have also found in the past they do not use standard sized ATX Motherboards, this means if the mobo ever fails you cannot replace it very easily.

According to XE.com, that's about $964. That's too much for a Pentium D computer, especially one with an 800 series processor. You can buy a much better Core 2 Duo computer for that much or less. Try Gateway or Dell or HP.

In my opinion, it is worth $500.

In comparing specs to the computer you are looking to buy, read about the minimum requirements of the newest operating system you are going to use (or the one you plan on upgrading to to i.e. Windows Vista) ... so if that computer surpasses the MAXIMUM requirments for Windows VIsta (which is a HEAVY HEAVY graphics HOG), for $500, then it's a deal.

I'm basically trying to help you determine how long your new computer will stay "in-date" in a way.
