Last year I got burgled good style. They were real professionals - they disabled the burglar alarm in the house and the separate one in the garage. They got:

B&O 42" Plasma screen (was built into the wall)
B&O Stereo & Speakers
B&O 32" LCD Screen
Bose soundsystem
2 PS2 + 60 games
2 x PSPs + 30 games
1 XBOX + 10 games
400 Cds
150 DVDs
Breitling watch
Rolex watch
Longines watch
Other jewelry worth about £20k
2 digital cameras
2 Ipods
1 laptop
1 Ibook
2 Mobile phones
3 B&O Cordless phones
Plus other stuff that I can't be bothered to list

Then from the garage:

3 month old BMW 645 convertible (£65k) - with tracker, which they ditched in about 5 minutes after driving away. This is how I knew we'd been burgled as we were on holiday and the tracker sent me an SMS to tell me that the car was moving.
1 yr old Range Rover
1 Kids Sherco Trials motorbike + trails clothing, boots, helmet
2 sets of golf clubs

They must have thought it was Christmas.

The Old Bill did catch them and they admitted 97 similar offenses. They were smack-heads and we never got anything back. Insurance paid up for everything (Direct Line & Zurich - recommended) but you should see my household premiums now (had no-claims protection on cars).

Not me personally and I hope it never does but a few years ago it happend to my boyfriend at the time.

We were inside his house which was located right on a corner of the block and we figured it was kids, broke into his car, took his CD case with ALL of his CD's in it (atleast $2000 worth) and some petty change from a cubby in the console. Don't know how they did it, no windows were broken.

It was a really eerie feeling sitting in that car once we realized what had happened.

A good few years ago I stupidly left our front door open and went upstairs to grab something, when I came down a sneak thief had been in and taken my handbag, my engagement and eternity rings were in my purse, I had just taken them off that morning to have them cleaned at the jewellers, over £400 in cash that was for the bank and bills was taken, personal mementos off my hubby and pictures I can never replace of my mom, glasses and a phone, I felt sick to the stomach and could have kicked myself for been so daft, I wasn't bothered about the money, it was my rings and personal effects that I was really distraught over, some things can never be replaced.

Yes they stole my expensive sports bicycle from my store room, that was bad enough but the mess and bad feeling they caused was much worse. If they stood in front of me at the time and i had a gun or baseball bat, well i would not be telling you this story unless you can use yahoo in prison.

My purse. My camera and I think some of my clothes (I wondered why, because they were just random H&M clothes), and also my glasses and my Ipod. Not funny. Didnt have a passport, and yes, I didnt stay in my homecountry in that moment.
