Of course, as in ANY country, there are those who think and those who do not. For those who do, are we thinking about the Kashmir issue? I believe this is what you are asking, not just "Do we think"?
Are you asking men to take a side on the issue?
Are you asking whether we think the US is already covertly involved?
Are you asking if men just do not care, or perhaps implying such by the way your question is worded?
There are several countries concerned with the outcome, not the least of which are India and Pakistan. The disputed territory of Kashmir shares borders with India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and China. Kashmir was partitioned as a result of the Indian Independence Act of 1947. About 65% of the territory is administered by India, the remaining 35% by Pakistan. So, all bordering countries will certainly have some concern. Throw in nuclear testing a few years back, and every thinking person's neck hairs rise a little.
Americans tend to get concerned and "think" a little more when political leaders say, "we need to go in and help", or "so-and-so committed crimes against humanity and we need to be the universal police". Then the thought process tends to be, "yeah, we need to go in and whoop em in three days, it will not take long."
It will be interesting to see how many US men have given this any serious thought. I do note your use of the term men versus people and I do wonder why it is worded so. Are you from some place that relegates women to a lesser role? Perhaps even one of the involved countries?
Regardless of the outcome this time around, you know there will be another conflict down the road:
US aids Pakistan when Russia invades Afghanistan, then pulls out.
US has strong ties with India economically.
Islamic fundamentalists are now very active in Pakistan
- all the stuff that will tend to polarize American men's opinions, right or wrong.

Most Americans would not be able to find India or Pakistan on a world map.
If you say Indian to an American, they automatically think that you mean a native American.
I know you asked for American answers and being English myself, and seeing as the area was once part of The British Empire,The locals wanted to be independent from Great Britain
I could not give a toss about what goes on there.

The common man in America does not think anything about Kashmir. Kashmir means nothing to any American. If the Indians and Pakistanis kill each other, that is their business, as long as there are no American soilders there dying. I doubt if 10% of Americans know where to locate Kashmir or anything about it.

Sadly, the common American man on the street thinks that "the Kashmir issue" has something to do with a piece of clothing. This answer is not a joke. I believe firmly that most Americans (U.S. citizens) have no idea what is going on in Kashmir, and they certainly could not point it out on a map.
However, they have probably heard of a "cashmere sweater" on TV or in ads.
I say this as an American and a former (disenchanted) school teacher in the U.S.

They probably think kashmir is where coats come from. The average American is tragically uninformed of international issues.

I do not know enough about the situation to be able to say for sure. The only I can say is that whoever orginally controlled the land should control it now.
