how do you change the icons in "my computer" as i have a aopen dvd rom/cd-rw and it comes up as a cd drive
this isnt a problem as it works with nero for burning and plays dvd,s but i would like to see the dvd icon there as it should be
this allways happens when i first put a new optical drive in but apart from that the operating system is in excellent running order
any ideas?

by the way,there isnt a customize option when you right click a cd or dvd drive icon

Basic OS Icons in Windows are stored in shell32.dll, you can of course navigate (after choosing change icon) to any programs icon that you want.

Right click on the icon you need to change,go to properties and then change icon.Hope this helps

Right Click on the icon, select 'Properties'
Select 'Customize' tab
Click on 'Change Icon'
Then choose the one you like.
Click on Apply or OK
