i like star trek & want to see one at the movies,since they havent had one in a long time.wake up universal!!

Good news. Reports have "Star Trek XI" being released sometime in 2008. Director is J.J. Abrams but no cast has been set yet, but it is clear that characters from other Star Trek properties will not be included.

Don't get me wrong I'm a Die-hard star trek fan, Star Trek and it's ideals are my life nothing would make me happier to see Gene's Vision of the futrue come ture but the fact of the matter is the people of today don't want that vision all they want is stuff for themselves and the people who are now in control of the trek franchise are out for themselves too If a trek movie is to be successful it needs to go forward not be a prequel and it needs to have a lot of action to get lesser minded people to come see it so that they can be taught something but at the same time it needs to deliver a message a message about the issues of today's world like terrorism, religion, gay rights, corruption and the many other problems of today's world. The movie needs to show people how stupid it is to let these issues keep humanity from greatness.
and THAT is what star trek is supposed to be about.

I think they ran out story ideas.I agree a Star Trek movie is long over due. If the producers are looking for an idea to work on, how about a story originating from the Deep Space 9 series... how is Capt Sisco doing since becoming the Emissary? the Series may have ended but there has to a story there they could work on.

I'd love to see a Startrek Voyager movie, (with the original cast, of course) but I'm afraid that's not going to happen.
