It does not so much bring prosperity and success as measure it. The number of dollars (or pounds or euros or whatever) in your bank account is a measure of your prosperity, if only one of them. A lovely large home and elegant furnishings might also be termed prosperity, even if the bank balance is not that large.

Success, now, is a very different term. It might be measured in wealth if that's what your goal was in the first place, but often success has less easily measured elements as satisfaction, spiritual development, pride in accomplishment. A person whose job it is to rescue people in trouble, for example, will measure success by the number of people transported to the hospital in time to recover from their injuries. A person whose job it is to teach will measure success by the number of students who really do understand what was taught and go on to use it well. Success for a writer would be measured in how many people loved reading the book, not how many copies were sold.

And just as careers have different measures, so do hobbies and other interests. Success as a doll collector would be having a collection of beautiful old dolls that did not suffer damage under my care, and successfully pass them on to the next generation which I have taught to preserved them as treasures.
