how can I get sound on my computer.

I have two sets of windows on my computer . one without internet. and one with internet but no sound. I installed the second because I had no internet.

This is a sound card (or adapter) problem. If you had sound before, then I would suspect the wires or connection to your speakers that may have gone bad. Because your speakers use a common plug/jack, you can easily substitute common headphones or other speakers to check that out. Yes, this should be plugged into the light green speaker jack on the back.

But you might have a software driver problem. Right Click on MyComputer and pick PROPERTIES. Then click on the Hardware section. Then click on Device Manager. Look for the Sound section. If your sound card is shown with a yellow error, then you need to reinstall the driver. Look at the disks that came with the computer, or visit the manufacturer's website.

No, the sound device is not the speakers its the sound card. Try going into start>control panel>sound and audio devices. Select the audio tab at the top of the screen and in the default device select your primary sound card. Repeat this for all of the audio settings. If this doesn't work then check all of your connections to your hardware. Still no joy then try Start>control panel>add hardware and search for audio devices. Follow the instructions
