If you car is 1999 or earlier chances are it has come out of sync. Most people I deal with have never used their key blade to open the car door so they seize up. If you can open the door put the key in the ignition and turn it to the (A) acsesory position, hold the large button in for 10-15 seconds then take it out. Get out the car ,shut door and try remote locking. That should sort it. If your car is after 2000 it will need to go to a main dealer to recode the key. You will need the transponder number for this (on a credit card size slip with four number/letters) expect to pay around £30-40. Also if you do not have number expect to pay £20 for main dealer to obtain this for you.
