My gut tells me he, and others, knew the intel was bad before he invaded Iraq. Starting with that premise, who was really to blame? And was the intelligence skewed from the beginning to support his obsession with invading Iraq? All of those who believed him and his Administration - Congress, the American people, the UN, European leaders, etc. were deftly led astray and then left wondering about the usefulness of our intelligence agencies after the truth was revealed. Funny how after the intel was proven to be bad, the reason for invasion morphed into freeing the Iraqi people from their dictatorship.

It wasn't that faulty. It was cherry picked to promote the Bush vision of reality which, of course, did not coincide with the facts.

Bush thought WMDs existed because his Daddy, Bush senior, while head of the CIA, gave WMDs to Hussein during the Iraq/Iran conflict.

He's like that bag of walnuts you buy. When you get home, you start cracking them open, and they're empty. So you crack open more, still empty. Eventually, you find one with something in it, but it ends up being an almond.

It was not just Bush who was deceived. And once committed to action you cannot just say "Oops" and pull the troops home.

A supermajority of the House and Senate believed there were WMDs and felt that Saddam was an imminent threat.

Because they told him/everybody else around him what they wanted to hear.
Bush wanted this war, and he wants one with Iran too, all for to keep the American people save and protected in their homes.
Or so you are told....

You poor US citizens seem so innocent and naive, even most adult ones, it breaks my heart.
