What does everyone think of the name Madelyn. It would be used as a middle name, (my husband likes it) and we have gone through a thousand different choices. Does everyone think its a little old ladyish, or is it a cute name for a girl? What is your opinion.

Thanks for the replies so far. So far that is the name we are going for, I just needed to hear some opinions on it because I heard one person say it sounded like an old lady, so I wanted to make sure not everyone thought that way. Thanks!

I love the name Madelyn. All the Madelyn's I've known have been such sweet girls. It's a beautiful middle name. I don't think it's little old ladyish (I'm a K teacher and have had a couple Madelyn's in my class in the last 5 years.) I think it's a classic name and a wonderful choice. I've got to think of a middle name for Syrie. I wish my husband would help a little more, he's happy with almost anything I pick. Maybe when we find out the sex on Thursday he'll be more gun-ho with deciding a name.

I know a lot of little girls with the first name Madelyn and it's cute as a first name, so I think it'd be cute as a middle name too. Definitely not old-ladyish because it seems to be back in style.

Madelyn is a beautiful name, it didn't make me think of a little old lady at all, I thought of the girl on Disney-the Suite Life of Zack and Cody, a girl on there has that name and I always thought it was very pretty.

It sounds like a fine midddle name to me. I wish you'd put the 1st name as well. It doesn't sound old ladyish either. Beside, a lot of older names are very popular today.

That name is cute! I think there's a baby with that name at the daycare where I sometimes take my child. I definitely see it as a younger girls name, not an old lady one. I would use it if I were you!

I like the spelling of Madeleine instead of Madelyn. Madeleine is more graceful and elegant looking.
