Yes, and today of all days is the worst! But my take on things like this is to just focus on one thing at a time, and take lots of breaks in between. I'd equate it to the fact that I'm a snacker, rather than someone who eats three big meals, if that makes any sense.

This is a good topic for further discussion, because now that I think about it, I could give you a really long and drawn-out answer on my cleaning theories! Ah well....this is the best I can do ~ I gotta go clean some more!

My exwife, her daughter, my grandaughter, and I all lived together for about 5 years and I am not going to say that I am the neatest person in the world, but the three of them were slobs. I would come home from work and the house was a disaster, scattered toys, dirty glasses and plates everywhere, laundry always piled high in the laundry room and in my stepdaughters room, dishes staked up over the top of the sink, etc, etc, etc. Need I say more? They would clean up "some" once in a while or when they diodn't have any more clean cloths or dishes. Half the time I had to wash a cup or plate in order to have something to eat or drink from. I would work all week and take a good portion of my day off and clean house. I would wash all of the dishes and wash my laundry and generally pick up and vaccum. I don't know why I ever bothered, because by the end of the next week it looked like it had not been touched and it hadn't. That's part of the reason that my ex is my ex, but that wasn't the only reason.

I get in this situation occasionally.. especially after a long work week.. and I usually jack the music up... and tell everyone to GET OUT OF THE HOUSE.. I spend a couple hours cleaning house.. I usually start with trash and dishes.. collecting them from each room and then I vacuum and then I dust and then I individually go from room to room and show attention to whatever really needs it.. but I have found that music helps and the house being empty REALLY helps....

Not only when I have to clean but when I am at work too. Sometimes my desk is so full of stuff to do I sit for like 5 minutes trying to decide what to start with first.

My room is a mess-- at least one corner is. I have lots of paper (construction paper, old letters, notes from classes, little stories I wrote, computer paper, manuels, and just blank pieces of paper), pipecleaners (from an old project), paintbrushes, blades (the little razor blade that you use to cut things), poster boards, magazines, stickers that I have yet to use, and other miscellaneous objects tucked away to the right side of my couch... It seems to be a daunting task even though it's a small area. I don't know where to start so I'm not even going to start. :-)

Yeah, my house has been that way for the past six months, and I am still in the process of deciding where to start. Probably will still be mulling over the decision come spring too.

Yes, I have. It can get overwhelming all that I want to get done sometimes. I usually make a list and just start checking it off. Of course, once in a while I will just say screw it, and not do any of it until I can regroup.

Not so much cleaning but organizing, putting away neatly; that's why my apartment is so badly cluttered.
Sadly, it's likely to stay that way.
C'est la vie.
