im trying to find out if pure silver is attracted to magnets.

Silver is not ferromagnetic so no. Metals other than iron can be magnetized - I have a pretty big magnet that is supposed to be made out of cobalt.

The silver contained in the silver coins is minimal, this is why they do not worth much. If you can find silver dollars, they are made of pure silver. They worth a lot.
