The spiritual significance of sexuality in carnal man is;When performing the act of procreation, under certain circumstances both parties experience union with God in their heart in unconditional love. This forms a life long union that should not be entered into lightly, nor should it be put asunder. When one has been raised into spiritual unity with God in unconditional love, some are called into celibacy,in a true state of celibacy the sexual energy is transformed into a spiritual energy that a saint uses to give shaktipat initiation to true seekers. Do not force celibacy without a spiritual calling. Sex creates a human in the body of a woman, transformed sexual energy creates a saint in the human body.

Sex is a gift of God, there is little spiritual significance until one abuses it. The problem is so many people don't understand what sex is about; it is meant strictly for a man and woman who are married; second it is to be enjoyed as often as desired; it is healthy for the body; why do you think men get prostrate cancer? Exercise is good for that organ to, lack of use of the gland makes it enlarge and possibly become malignant. Sex also makes the heart beat faster, and the lungs inhale deeper, this is all healthy. I believe though it is not a fact, that the man's seman, may actually be an cleanser for the woman's gentilia. Sexual activity is excellent for overall health. If people understood and applied this, there would be less cancer related problem with sexual organs. God knows what He is doing. Read the Song of Solomon it is an O.T. Testament book devoted to erotic sex.

There is absolutely nothing "spiritual" about sexual attraction. It is a built-in "animal compulsion" device by which all living creatures are "programmed" for the reproductive process. Mother Nature has only one purpose,-perpetuation of that particular species of living creature (humans included). The objective is to ensure by all means possible, the coming to reproductive maturity of that creature from the time of its birth, then triggering the flow of certain hormones into the body to activate a powerful urge to mate and procreate. Humans have applied their own special mental thinking capabilites to "romanticize" and "spiritualize" a basic biological animal behaviour. Mother Nature doesn't give a tinker's toenail about the "lovey-dovies" lol, and the white picket fence and the happy ever afters. She just wants productivity. Everything else is simply the "pretty dressing" that humans have used to turn the basic instinct to reproduce into something that they can view as being more...."beautiful"

Take a look at some Hindu statuary to get an idea of the spiritual significance of sexuality. The Male Force and the Female Force together is THE ONE. They do not simply feel like God touches them with ecstasy: in ecstasy, they become God, complete and whole.

If anything is magic, then sex is magic.

I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but from reading the Bible, having sex signifies the union between two souls and is of the utmost respect to someone else. Once you pledge to join in marriage, your promise to God binds you to that person, permitting you to have intimacy.

That's just from what I've read. I don't agree entirely with everything, such as how it states if you get a divorce and then remarry you're committing adultry.

Hope this helped a little.

the spiritual significance of human sexuality? That is for each individual to determine. However, if you consider the fact that the clitoris has but ONE function - sexual pleasure - what do you make of that? Not every woman will take a partner in life. Does that mean she should remain pleasureless all her life?

Ultimately, sex is one's surrender to that which is greater than oneself. One steps into the fire (spirit) of God and burns away the dross accumulated over time by the soul being centered in duality, sensory perception and ego. Thus such can be a purifying and liberating experience, even a blessing from God. Indeed, one who is truly devoted spiritualizes every activity entered into, for one finds God already there.

The only significance is purely evolutionary.
First off why is sex necessary at all?
Answer: By intermixing genetic material -- there is a higher chance that the new being will be better adopted to the environment,
Second. Why is sex pleasurable?
Simple: creatures who did not find it pleasurable have all died out.

Love and sex are surely gifts of God, nourished by the relationship between two people. Love is a positive force directed towards people's maturity as persons, as no longer they are concentrated entirely upon themselves, but look outside to the rest of humanity.

it depends on your spiritual belief. If you believe that everything in the world is meaningless, then so is sex. But if you're one that thinks everything happens for a reason, then sex is as spiritual as everything else that ever happens to you...
Nothing is meaningless, just like everything is... it's all relative... sex, and i mean the purely non-biological, pleasurable side of it, is one of the many liberating acts of our lives that insert in us a spurt of happiness...
And, again, relative from person to person, it's importance, priority, respect, and spirtuality will differ.
