Thats the great thing about tennis you can start at any age and carry it for the rest of your active life.
Ofcourse if you want to be a pro the younger the better. I started at the age of 4. So i guess whenever you have enough strength to pick a racket up and swing is when you could start.
But recreationally anytime as long as you have an interest in it.

It all depends on how good and involved you want to be in tennis. If you aim to have fun and play competitively in the sport, 4 or 5 is probable a good age to just show the child what the sport is about and how it is played. If you want to be really, really good, then you should introduce the sport as soon as they c an pick up a racket. Just make sure you don't push a kid too hard, it will make them hate the sport, which is the whole reason they should play sports, to enjoy themselves and have fun.

It depends on what you want to do...
If you want to be a professional player , the ideal age is a very young age....like 6-7 yrs.
If you just want to play it for a pastime, u can start any time u want.
Age No Bar...Tennis Rocks!
