I think, under the circumstances, it would feel weird to know your 55 yo Dad was about to become a father again at not only his age, but your age. I think it would feel this way to you even if you were younger, there is always a desire of a child to be the only one and to not share the limelight with other potentially limelight stealing brothers and sisters. Also, watching him interact with one, and probably differently than he did with you could present some uncomfortable comparisons. But should you feel bad about having negative thoughts? ABSOLUTELY NOT! If you act on them, then yes, but for thinking them? NO! Just try and get it behind you and see if you can project a more positive thought to your new half brother or sister. He must have one young girlfriend, eh? LOL! Good luck!

No i think your reaction would be completely normal but try to also understand that your dad if he has accepted it will want your support 100 percent.
Id feel weird if my parents had another baby as well but i know when i saw it for the first time all the weirdness would go and it would be my little brother or sister all the same!!!
good luck

You certainly are not bad for feeling a bit negative. You dad even has doubts about it. These things happen and you just deal with it. You will be fine once the baby get here. You just need time to warm up to the idea.

No I don't think your a bad person, you were bound to fee a bit weird about it, that's your dad. You probably feel a little jealous knowing that its going to take up quite abit of your dads time, I think your feelings are normal. Once you have had time to get your head around it you'll be ok with it all.

Well what can you do about it now. support your Dad, he is the one that has to accept it more than you do. It is normal for you to have mixed feeling but it is a life and it will be your step brother or sister and you will love him or her when you see the baby. Make a nice gesture and go buy some booties for the baby and give them to your Dad and his girlfriend.

No, it's normal for you to feel like this! It's devastating for anyone to see their parents break up (I'm making an assumption here- I hope that something else didn't happen!). I'm sure you'll come round to the idea in time and will be only to pleased to help with your half brother/sister to be and will be great pals when he/she's older!! Everything works out in the end!X

You are not a bad person, it's only natural to have these feelings. In time I'm sure you'll accept the situation for the sake of your dad. You've got to remember it's his life and I'm sure you wouldn't want him to interfere if the tables were turned.

I can understand why you feel like that. I think most people in your situation would. It will feel weird for awhile. I think you have a good attitude towards the situation. You seem to accept his girlfriend so in time you will probably find the new baby is ok to.
