Well seems he was poisoned with Polonium 210 the radioactive isotope which has to be either ingested or inhaled...
The police, etc have found traces of this radicoactivity in the place he last went to eat at Itsu and also at his hotel room... as to the who did it... I think it's clear that no-one other than the Russians would have such a motive. They wanted to shut him up as he was about to discover who had killed the journalist Anna Politkovskaya. They are stupid to keep denying this and doing so is frankly quite bizarre... he hardly ingested the stuff himself!!
Or... if you want a conspiracy theory maybe the British did it [covert support of the Russians' war with the Cheychen's in return for possibly who knows what??? Arms, support against the Middle Eastern countries??]

Why does everyone seem to have sympathy for Litvinenko? What you overlook is that this man is a traitor. He turned against his own county and no doubt gave up state secrets to gain entry in the UK. Think about how the Russian people would feel? Would Americans have sympathy if Benedict Arnold was poisoned by George Washington?
THis man may be useful to the west because of all the information he knows, but certainly a defector deserves no respect. They have already shown they cannot be trusted once.

It was done by the goverment of Russia. Mr Litvinenko was originally a 'spy' working for the russian goverment. Yet with time he eventually turn coated to the English goverment and began giving away secrets. To prevent this from happening the Russian goverement sent someone to slow poisen Mr Litvinenko. The reason he was slow poisened was that it means a definate death but also it takes 3 days to show effect. This means that the person who did it could have left the country before he even noticed he was ill and could evade suspisions. On his death bed he knew he was going to die and so he told the english goverment as many of Russias secrets as possible as vengence. The thing that is worrying people is that the last conflict with Russia in public view is far passed yet what do the goverments still seem to NEED to know about eachother but most importantly WHY? what is this internal conflict that is hidden away from public view?

Opinion: Russian capitalism is known for the corporate structure having organization not mentioned in annual reports. These are enforcers, mobsters in other words, who execute any and all in their way, with those at the top truthfully not knowing the individual executioners, but are knowledgeable that the deed(s) they wanted done have taken place. Generally, Litivinenko was poisoned, we will never know who did it exactly.

Dunno but sometimes wish the same would happen to Scott, Phina or Jan in "I'm a Celebrity..." (not really though - what a nasty way to die!!) Hey look lots of peeps die one way or another as the result of "evil" governments all the time - we don't get to hear about most of them - this was just more DRAMATIC. We're a superficial lot - if he'd just been shot or something we'd not be bothering to discuss it

Dunno who did it - or why and how...but perhaps us Brits will revert to 'nasty Muslims', now Alexanders' bad sushi got the better of him. After the comical and 'sexy' last few days - with spy questions and allusions to James Bond (and even Miss Moneypenny), despite this being the sort of 'terrorism' not even London can deal with, is it back to normal on this particular site?
