BMI is defined as the individual's body weight divided by the square of the height, and is almost always expressed in the unit kg / m2, which is therefore often left out. The BMI value can be calculated with the following formulae.

Body mass index (BMI) is a diagnostic that is generally used to determine if a person is overweight, underweight, obese, etc. Generally a BMI of 25 and below means that the person has average weight. A BMI greater than 25 means the person is overweight. To be honest, I don't know what measurement determines waht wight group but the formula is:

(BOdy Mass in kilograms)/(height in meters)*(height in meters)

1 in = 2.54 cm
1oo cm = 1 m
1kg = 2.2 pounds

Body Mass Index (B M I) is a ready means of assessing whether you are overweight.
B M I = your weight (kilograms) divided by your height squared in metres

e.g. if you weigh 75 kgm and are 1.69 metres tall then your
B M I = 75 kgm / 1.69 x 1.69 metres
75 / 2.856 B M I = 26.26
19 TO 25 desirable for women and 20 to 26 desirable for men
