Diet isnt involved in milk production, suckling of your baby is what increases milk, whenever they nurse they are creating a blueprint of how much milk they are drinking and so it is determined by them and you, Nurse alot and you will increase milk production, also, drinking water, veggies and fruits keep the breast milk rich and full of much needed nutrients

I received a Depo Provera shot after birth of my first daughter. I was planning on breast feeding and found that she was extremely hungry after 2 weeks of doing so. I contacted the hospital which advised me to the nursing specialist. She said that the shot actually decreases your milk production slowly. She tol me to start taking fenugreek. I do not remember the dosage. She had me pump and not actually nurse, mixing the breast milk with formula until I had an increase in the supply. The reason for pumping being that I could visually see how much milk I was producing. Also very important to do so from both breasts at one setting. She had me pump in between feedings as well since the stimulation aids in increased production. She also stressed the importance of green leafy vegetables and increased water intake. This worked like a charm for me but please check with your provider for the dosage on fenugreek as everything you consume passes to your baby.

The main reason for milk production is supply & demand. The more regularly you nurse your baby, the more milk you have.

On the diet side, you need to intake a lot more liquids (water, juice, milk, soup, whatever). Also, I've heard fish & papaya can increase supply as well.

It's all about supply and demand. The more you nurse and pump, the more milk you'll make.

Some moms do report a boost in supply if they eat oatmeal for breakfast every day.

Eat enough calories and drink your fluids...dehydration can reduce supply.

A lot of people swear by fenugreek too. I havent tried it, but know people who have and it works.
