Studies have found that 30 to 50 percent of fertilized eggs are lost before a woman finds out she's pregnant, because they happen so early that she goes on to get her period about on time.

Hope that helps.

It is very possible. There is this condition called a blighted ovum and they occur when the fertilized egg does grow because of a chromosone problem. The body will miscarry when this occurs and it typically will happen early on, which will make a women feel that they are just late for their period and then they will all of a sudden have severe cramps and heavier than normal bleeding. I truly hope this is not happening to you, but if it is, hang in there and know that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. God Bless

Let me tell you my story:

I had my normal period in may of 05' then 4 days later i started to bleed again (it was not heavy and it was brown blood). As each day passed i started hurting in my back and belly and was so tired. i would bleed from red to light red back to brown. You know i did think something in my mind was wrong but i figured maybe i was having a second period (even though i never do this (that)..My mom said well you are getting older, i was 25 years old (that is not old) but anyhow after day 5 of this i couldn't stand the pain (well i could have but didn't want too) I got my husband to take me to the er.
They drew blood from me and then theycame back in my room and told me this YOUR PREGNANT. I could not believe it. We weren't trying but with me bleeding they knew something was up so they done an ultrasound on me and it was too late i had done miscarried. So that day i found out i was pregnant and miscarrying. I could not believe it cause i thought well i should have known i was because i have been pregnant before (I have a 5 year old). They admitted me to the hospital overnight, kept check on my blood levels and gave me pain killlers. I know though when i got pregnant..It was during my period (which i did believe you couldn't get pregnant in doing so cause i believed the myth)
The doctor came in the next morning and told me i was 5 weeks but did not require a D&C. I never did pass clots or tissue. So yea if i hadn't of gone to the ER i would have never known i was pregnant let alone miscarrying.
It is possible. If you think you have or are miscarrying go to the er. Or atleast take a pregnancy test.

You can test 19 days from the day you think you became pregnant and the hormone hcg stays in your system up to 8 weeks after miscarrying.

Yes its is possible, most women with heavy cycles and very painful cramps offen mistake miscarriages with their regular cycle. Only one way to know whats what, go to your Dr, they will tell you if your uterus was thick enough to have been supporting a pregnancy
