Yes people say that all the time to me, for the most part it doesn't bother me, now and again I do get a little bit cross with them for saying it, I think some people just say it without realising it.

Yes, but I feel it takes away some of the enjoyment of giving the gift. Thankfully, I don't hear it often so it doesn't put me off buying presents..

Yes I've heard that and I say it all the time too. I don't actually mean that and I would be disappointed if I got nothing, it's just something i was always taught to say to seem polite!
