you may find an Adobe PDF toolbar in Microsoft Word. Using the PDFWriter macro, you can easily create a PDF document with an automatic list of contents. The PDF contents list works best if you used the styles for headings (as opposed to formatting individual text sections manually).

1. In Word, click the PDFWriter button on the toolbar.

2. Select a file name and location. Afterwards, a window will pop-up showing PDFWriter's progress.

3. Check your file when PDFWriter is complete.

The best way to create a pdf file is using adobe acrobat professional 9. It has most of the features that help to easily create pdf files including conversion of .doc , .html into pdf files. But unfortunately its now a freeware.

There are a number of applications that can generate PDF files from your documents.

A common method they use is to install themselves as virtual printers whose output is a PDF file, instead of a sheet of paper. Using such applications, you can easily convert any printable document to a PDF file.

One that I use for myself is PDFMachine that has a free version. It is very handy and easy to work with. It also comes with an optional toolbar for Microsoft Word.

Visit the following website and download the version you like:

Also worth a note. Virtual Printers can save anything to PDF. Try printing out this page as an example to the PDF printer and it will save it as a PDF.

You will need the full blown version of Adobe Acrobat to convert it. If you have that, then you could to file--> print as you would normally print on any printer and select the adobe printer and hit print and that would convert your word file into pdf. if you dont have the full blown adobe acrobat version, you could use this free converter called pdf995
