Not long ago my grand children were taken by CPS from mother doing meth was at birth in 2 babies. CPS mentioned one day that we don't know where the parents were when doing the drug. I was wondering if they did do them in the house with the kids or the car would they too get high? Do they do drug testing on children under 2? I would think if it is true the kids were actually there while they done this cps would test kids to get parents even more on endangerment and they would know if parents are telling the truth, What kind of test could they do on children that young? they were living in a apartment kids in bedroom with door closed? I don't know how far away the rooms actually were but what I remember the apartment was pretty small.

Are you in Michigan? A law was passed last year that allows this. Our government now states that if a parent is caught doing meth, the kids are taken NO MATTER WHAT did, or did not, happen.

The children can be well-cared for, the parents never even have to expose them to the drugs. Doesn't matter.

Now, I am NOT condoning meth use. It is a nasty, nasty drug with terrible physical and emotional side effects, BUT I question the validity of a law that arbitrarily takes children away from their parents while ignoring the reality of the situation. Doesn't seem like that should happen in a "free society". And I also fear for the precedent it sets, today it is meth, tomorrow pot, alcohol & cigarettes. Or maybe even religion or beliefs. We have opened Pandora's box with this law.

Funny, how in a state where foster kids die month after month from abusive state PAID foster parents (3 have been murdered by the foster parents in the last few months), we enact a law that takes more kids and throws them into the system.

The new America disgusts me.

Wake up woman. Your grandchildren have already been taken out of the house by Child Protective Services, both their parents are drug users and you're big concern is 20 questions about drug testing. YOUR grandchildren are in danger and it's high time that a responsible relative petition the courts for custody or guardianship until the parents get off drugs and are able to responsibly care for these children.

Were they just doing it or making it? If they were making it, you might have bigger problems. When it's being made, it gives of certain chemicals which are incredibly unhealthy (forgive me, I'm not exactly sure what it gives off.) When meth houses are raided, usually masks are worn by the police, then they quickly remove the people, then hazmat goes in with suits on to collect the evidence. Sometimes these houses can explode, due to the volatile substances. I hope they weren't making it.

Meth can be smoked, injected, swallowed, snorted, or used in even less-lovely ways. here's a list of possible side effects (while this list would generally be used for 1st person ingetion, 2nd hand may also have some of these symtoms.

the concern should be WHY are the kids mother doing DRUGS? The kids should be taken away. That's horrible and sad. It doesn't matter if the kids were in the basement and mom was on the roof, the fact is if the "responsible" parent is incoherent from drugs, they shouldn't be allowed to have any children.

I don't smoke but I do use smokeless tobacco. What I do is called dipping, not chewing. I've dipped for 25 year, the last 20 of which I have used Copenhagen. I wish I had never started.

they can be hair tested if you want. My company can test me and it supoosedly can go back 2 or more years depending on how long your hair is. hope that helps. I don't know ANYTHING about meth though, is it a drug you smoke or inject?

To gem who thinks drug using parents are ok: how about when the kids have to watch mommy do 4 or 5 guys a night on the living room floor so she can earn enough to score her next hit, is that ok? good parenting? That's what my step-grandkids would be living with had not my wife and I stepped in and took them out of there. how about kids dangling out a second story window while their parents are sitting downstairs n the sofa getting stoned watching football with the front door open and the odor of marijauna drifting out into the street? I had that confrontation with a neighbor once, he didn't like it when I told him he needed to take care of his kids before one of them falls out the open window and breaks his little neck.
