Your PC is infected with malware/spyware. Pop ups are a sign that your PC is infected. A pop up blocker wont't help until your PC is clean. use these scans to remove it.
All of these are ones that I personally use and all are free.
AVG Removes I-Worm/Stration · BackDoor.Generic3.GBB and .GBC · Worm/Generic.FX · Exploit.WMF

Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free, so there's no harm giving it a try to see if something has invaded your computer.

depending an the version of lime-wire you are using you may find that it actually has built in adware, so the only way your going to stop the pop-ups is to remove the lime-wire installation. no amout of pop-up blockers will help.

Get somehing extra useful then each and every of the free suff (use that as backup) attempt getting Kaspersky AV, and both secret agent Sweeper or SpyDocotr. Then change to Opera broswer or Firefox browser as those could have a lot less pop-ups.

Get a spyware scanner, you are obviously downloading some spyware with your downloads, and maybe even virus,s download spyware scanners such as Adaware and Spybot - Search and Destroy, you can find them all on download.com, just search for them at the top, update before you scan your computer. Do a virus and spyware scan, spyware that makes pop-ups are called ad-ware because they advertise via pop-ups.

You can download two well used spyware/adware programs, called Spybot or NoAdware. Spybot is free, you can donate. NoAdware can scan your system for free and if you want there is a small fee.
