Horror movie hosts have become victims of the popularity of home video----more people buy or rent their own scarey flicks than ever watched the old late-night shock theater shows. Some of the original hosts (Elvira, Zacherley, Bob Wilkins, John Stanley, etc., still do personal appearences, appear on videos, make recordings, have websites.
Sad, but true---just one more instance of convenience and technology in a trade-off with a fun community tradition.
Petition your local station to re-start a late-night scarey-movie show--who knows, you could be a horror-host yourself some day!

Vampira lost her lawsuit against Elvira for ripping off her schtik, but Elvira is also a bit of a has been . Deadly Earnest vanished without a trace, it is said the body snatchers may have had a hand in it. Rod Serling died from cancer in the seventies and that idiot on that other show is still going but nobody watches.
