Go Start/Control Panel/System/Hardware/and select the Device Manager button/ and you should scroll down to network adapters.

From there you should see things like Ethernet adapters, and hopefully a wireless networking adapter.

If you see this adapter, click to see if indeed it is 'enabled'.

Not all new laptops are wireless.

If you don't see one. Goto the manufactures' website, and select support, and somewhere you find a place to enter you serial number (located underneath), or the model number. You should then get a whole load of information, such as build date, build specification and supplied software.

It is in the build specification you should see if wireless networking was an option fitted to that piticular machine.

And if not, then you can get a USB Wi-Fi adapter for about 20 pounds from PC world.

Have a nice day.
