You could just take a bottle of Wine, or Champagne. You can just call the people that are hosting it (if your close with them) and ask them what they need you to bring. Mention everything, ask if they have enough desert, and alcohal (two things i reccomend bringing). If they aren't trying to be formal, they will mention something. And if it doesn't sound like they have any Wne, or Champagne (ask them what they have to drink when you call), then just automatically bring it.

You don't have to bring a gift but if you have a favorite food item you can bring that for everyone to try. Or a nice bottle of wine if the hosts drink. I personally wouldn't come empty handed to someones house. Flowers for the table would also be nice.

Having you here on this day we celebrate is a gift in itself. Enjoy the company, food, and our wanting you in our home. Don't feel embarrassed or think that you are rude for not bringing anything, we invited you with no strings attached. Look at the others we invited around you, they probably feel the same way. Just enjoy this day with us, and many more times with us. May His blessings abound.

If you want you could make some cookies or muffins and bring those. We make cranberry nut muffins and when we have leftovers we give them to our neighbors next door. Unless the person hosting the dinner specifies bringing something it's not necessary. It's a nice gesture though.

It's always curtious to bring something. Wine is always a safe bet, is there an Austalian food or hors d'oeuvres that you could bring? That would make for good conversation too....Happy Turkey Day!

Good question. you can bring the hostess some flowers or a small plant, a box of candy, or bring a dessert. It's a kind gesture that says thanks to the hostess for her invitation and all of the meal preparations.
Happy Thanksgiving. :)
