There's a film I watcherd a couple of years ago. It's a classic film - I think it may be a musical. It was about a family, the young girl had fallen in love with a soldier (possibly a neighbour?). There was a younger boy that got up to mischief. He used to break a lot of things with his sling-shot. At the end of the film the young girl follows the soldier onto a train full of other army men. This is all I can remember about the film, but I would be grateful if anyone can help find what it's called. Thankyou.

I believe you are thinking of "On Moonlight Bay" which is an old musical starring Doris Day. She falls for a neighbour and he goes away to fight in the war so she follows him to the train to go with him.

Her younger brother Wesley is always in trouble and ends up breaking a mirror with his slingshot.

I have no idea, but it does sound familiar.
Try http://www.imdb.com - that's a really good film website which has details about every film going, lol. Go to where it says Search, select Keywords and then try typing in a few words at a time.
Failing that, use Google!
Hope that helps and good luck!

Lol, you beat me to it =P
