I mean..a wide that was so wide it was stopped by second slip!!

I guess he must have been very nervous to bowl like that.

NO,the worst first ball was bowled by Keith Miller to an English opening batsman[whose name escapes me at the moment] and it passed so far down the Leg side that the Aussie Keeper[Don Tallon} missed it and it went to the boundary for 4 wides and if i remember correctly it was a "No Ball"

Certainly the worse ball I've ever seen to start a Test and in fact a series, and i've been watching cricket for 20 years.

Quite often 2nd slip doesn't even watch the ball after it passes the batsman, so luckier still for Harmie. Can you imagine if Freddie wasn't watching, it might've knocked him and England out!

The Aussies would be about 1/500 already if not for Freddie.

Maybe worst ever opening ball but certainly not the worst EVER. Unfortunately(for Aussies) that distinction goes to Greg Chappell, as Captain, for forcing his brother, Trevor, to bowl an underarm grubber on the final ball of a ODI against New Zealand even though they needed a six to win. The only positive from this shameful low act, apart from forcing a rule change to outlaw it in future games, was that it was done to New Zealand which makes it funny AND good.
