Dell or PC World... if you do go to PC World, the advent ones are cheap and cheerful... don't let them talk you into buying anything else for it though (unless its a bag and you want one)!!

Depends what you want to do! For Multimedia applications and especially for running Pro-tools or any video or musical editing software your better off with an Apple Mac as there far more stable. If you just want a good personal/business laptop you'd be better off with a mid range Dell as there cheaper. If you want a good non Mac laptop go for a Sony Vaio as they have a bit of everything. Bit pricey though!!!

I agree with littlebelindy.

Macs are better. The new Macbook has pretty much everything you need straight out of the box, WiFI, Bluetooth and webcam built in. Comes complete with a neat software package too. The operating system is easier and much more secure than Windows and not prone to virus attacks.

The price is pretty reasonable too for the power and quality of what you get.

Go buy.

Go for Sony they have a excellent warranty for users. If the laptop goes wrong, a courier will pick it up from your place and return it repaired. It happened to me and was very pleased.
