To not forgive is a waste of energy.
Honestly forgiving does more for the forgiver than the forgiv-ee... Obviously the forgiv-ee could care less.
I always feel better once it's forgiven. I can move on.
I don't forget (that's different), and you'd be hard pressed to find me putting myself in a position of trust with the person again... but I've done some pretty stupid things too and feel bad afterwards so I'd appreciate a little forgiveness now and again.

I think there are things that can be considered unforgivable, especially from a parent's point of view. For instance, if someone caused death to one of my children on purpose, I don't see how I could ever forgive them. If that makes me less of a Christian or a good person, then ok but I still just couldn't forgive someone for something like that.
But there are things we all do in life that are not well thought out and sometimes cause emotional pain to those we love, but it doesn't mean that we are all bad. If we went through life never forgiving, or being forgiven for the mistakes me we make, then nobody would be speaking to anybody! Forgiving someone doesn't mean allowing someone to walk all over you. We all screw up and need a second chance.

We should forgive because we have been forgiven, simple as that, in my opinion.
