I wouldn't drink the homemade kind since it has raw eggs in it, but the store bought kind that is pasturized is perfectly fine since the eggs have been pasturized there is no harm to the baby. Hope this helps, enjoy your eggnog!

you know, this is such a good question and I think that you are a very good mother to be to worry about it. Look on the label in the eggnog and see the ingredients, now a days they don't use the actual eggs in it. they use other things, unless it is homemade eggnog. I come from a culture where eggnog is the Holiday drink kinds and pregnant women and everybody drinks it! I personally love it too. After eggnog is made it is cooked and processed, they don't just put the eggs in there and that's it so I'd say go for it and enjoy the holidays, I will be 32w pregnant by Christmas and I am having some!!!! God bless.

It is best to pass the egg nog, especially homemade ones, since it is made with raw egg. If you drink it, you increase your risk of contracting the germs that raw eggs carry, such as salmonella, a bacteria, or toxoplasmosis, a parasite. And these germs can affect your growing baby. Some experts believe you could still drink eggnog, but the commercially made ones, since the drink is made with pasteurized eggs. Hence, it's safer to have. Yet, it is still best to play it safe! Hope that helps =)

Be on the safe side and skip the eggs, esp if u didnt make it urself (were the eggs fresh, was the nog refrigerated, were the eggs bacteria-free?)

Try making egg-free nog - maybe it comes close to the real thing. Here's a site with recipes: http://specialchildren.about.com/od/foodallergies/qt/eggnog.htm

Maybe it's best to stay away from any egg products...just to be sure. It's also best to ask someone in medicine training or IS a doctor so you will be sure to drink it or not.

not to eat/drink/do while pregnant:
1. oily food
2. soft drinks / soda
3. BEER!
4. smoke
5. don't use any transports dangerous to pregnant women (subways or busses w/ many people)
6. sexual intercourse in unnecessary places
7. partying too hard
8. pick up things from the ground...ask someone else to get it...safety first for the baby and u...

These are some of the things you shouldn't eat/drink/do while you're pregnant, okay? But, a short call to your doctor is okay...it's just a simple question he can definitely answer in less than 1 minute or so...
