Philosophy is something inborn. Some people find it fascinating and others find it boring. I think that people who love philosophy have a mature spirit. This might sound crazy but some people believe in reincarnation and that every time your spirit goes through a life it gains experience and is more mature. This is why you might see a 20 to be more mature in their thoughts about subjects that a 40 year old would consider as taboo and a “sin.”

Here is something to begin with: ..." the branch of knowledge or academic study devoted to the systematic examination of basic concepts such as truth, existence, reality, causality, and freedom.
- school of thought: a particular system of thought or doctrine.
-"phil" stands for love (of a subject or discipline), the rest of the word stands for quite a lot, but simply reasoning!
Take up from here, go on to complete your task by refering to some good ref books! good luck!

The art or asking questions. (That's what philosophy students and professors call it in CEGEP)
Because it is with those questions we understand our world, we have to ask the right question at the right time, and think about the answer.

Maybe this will help:

PHILO : LOVE/LOVE OF
SOPHIA : WISEDOM

Philosophers try to understand the nature of the universe, and it's life, and it's forces.

Philosophy opens new and captivating thoughts, and gives you the oppertunity to see other peoples' opinions, and what could make them think that.

Philosophy deals with three things: what is reality? How do we know reality and how do we know we know, and what is the good (ethically speaking).
