can any card set be used with the genius edition board of trivial pursuit?

Never heard of the genius edition. All the card sets [including the "Genus"--as in "first"] should be interchangeable as long as you simply go by the colors. The rules are still the same.

Yes, as long as the colors are the same, any card set may be used with the Genus (not genius) edition board. AFAIK, no sets have different colors, but I could be wrong. You can also use multiple sets in the same game, we used to do that all the time.
