this happens every few minutes or so and is really frustrating anyone got any ideas what is causing this?

This can depend. If you have many games installed on your PC, you have to get your video card checked. And if not, check the wires.

if the system is not rebooting, then you need to check the cabling around the monitor. also check the Vedio card of your PC
